A local brand’s story of resilience, and a family legacy with an inspiring message.
Swimco is a Canadian household name when it comes to swimwear. Rooted in the belief that swimsuit shopping can be a positive and empowering experience, Swimco has been the swimwear expert for generations of Canadians.
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, they were forced to shut their doors and close operations. After months of uncertainty, they re-emerged as an online-only boutique led by a small but mighty team.
As a designer for Monitor Creative, we were at the helm of Swimco’s transition into a new digital environment, and we continued to partner with them throughout their journey back to normalcy.
Our team inherited a brand with an already existing visual identity. Our job was to re-contextualize all the different elements of Swimco’s brand—logo, typefaces, tagline, and everything—into an evolution that reflected a new chapter in their story.
Redefining their brand messaging helped us craft meaningful stories centred on empowerment and memories worth making.
A fresh look, redesigned brand applications, and a new strategy, packaged into a comprehensive, interactive brand guide.
We got to work on their social media strategy with content that emphasized their expertise, as well as introducing new lifestyle topics—all polished off with a clean, branded look.
Over the next couple years, we designed a wide breadth of assets, including email campaigns, blog posts, advertising, print pieces, signage, and more.
Today, Swimco continues to help their customers find the confidence and support they need to enjoy what really matters—amazing adventures and meaningful memories with the people they love.
